Women's urinary issues topic for inaugural CMH Breakfast Club Aug. 10

Citizens Memorial Hospital is hosting an inaugural CMH Breakfast Club on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 7-8 a.m., in CMH Community Room 1. It's a great way to jump-start the morning with a light breakfast and learn about women's health and wellness topics from an expert.

The public is invited to attend the free event. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.

The first event will feature Mark J. Walterskirchen, M.D., board certified urologist in practice at CMH Urology Surgical Center in Bolivar. Dr. Walterskirchen is an expert in treating patients with urological and overactive bladder issues.. He will present, "Living Without Limits: Understanding Treatment Options for Bladder Control," focusing on women's urinary issues.

Are you afraid to cough, sneeze or exercise because of urine leakage? Do you use the bathroom a lot, day and night, because you have an urgent need to pee? You are not alone. In fact over 25 million adult Americans have urinary incontinence and more than 50% haven't even discussed it with a doctor. You do not have to live with leaks. Help is possible!

Dr. Walterskirchen will talk about:

  • What's normal and what isn't,
  • Bladder control and overactive bladder,
  • Causes for incontinence, stress incontinence and urinary retention, and
  • Treatment options, therapies and more.

Dr. Walterskirchen is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He attended medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, and completed a residency in urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

CMH Urology Surgical Clinic is located at 1155 W. Parkview St., Suite 2C, Bolivar. Dr. Walterskirchen is accepting new patients. For more information go to https://cmhbolivar.info/WHTo schedule an appointment call 417-326-2550.
